Blind Love Cart Horse July Update - 75 Horses Treated and Farrier Joins To Give Monthly Care!
July became a month of positive change for working cart horses. The Blind Love team was able to provide essential care and treatment to a record 75 horses during their outreaches! From treating saddle sores to deworming and distributing humane harnesses. The team is also excited to welcome a skilled farrier and will now hold monthly farrier outreaches. An incredible addition to the team!

Nowzad July Update - Horse and Donkey Treatment in the Heat of Kabul’s Summer
The Nowzad team had a busy July, caring for 170 working animals, including 53 donkeys and 117 horses, thanks to your incredible support! From vaccinations to life-saving surgeries, they provided essential care during the scorching heat, bringing relief with veterinary care at the sanctuary and in the field.

Friendicoes Equine Clinic June Update - Countless Treatments to Ease Animal Suffering
The Friendicoes Mobile Equine Team set up a 3-week treatment camp at Kedarnath, with two more planned! They treated a variety of ailments, from colic and back sores to lameness and eye injuries. They held workshops to educate local owners on better equine care, inspiring a future of kindness. They also rescued several abandoned and neglected animals, including ponies and wedding horses, giving them a safe home at their Gurgaon shelter.

VSPCA June Update - Incredible Food Plan for Rescued Working Animals in India
Their two shelters offer a safe and loving forever home to animals who have suffered terrible neglect and abuse. 32 buffaloes and 4 horse found a loving home after enduring awful conditions. The VSPCA cares for their residents with wholesome meals - animals nutritious daily diets consist of dry hay, fresh green grass (morning and evening!), special concentrated feed and lots of fruits and vegetables!

First Update From Okavango Animal Welfare Trust! A Successful Outreach for Animals
Our new project partners Okavango Animal Welfare Trust were a lifeline for so many donkeys and horses in Botswana. Their first outreach clinics saw many wins for animals. In Ukusi they treated 48 donkeys and the second in Shaikarawe cared for 63 donkeys and one horse. The OAWT team, including a local vet and farrier, did amazing work to examine and treat the animals. In addition to vital treatments such as worming and hoof care, the team addressed wounds and other conditions.

Friendicoes: The Camel Sanctuary (Shaitrawa Jodhpur) Update - A New Home For The Camels
Friendicoes Camel Sanctuary is facing a significant change. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the land where the sanctuary is currently located has been divided. As a result, the sanctuary is being relocated to a different part of the land. In the meantime, the camels are doing well. The recent rains have brought some relief from the heat, and the team is providing them with shade, water, food, and necessary treatments as always. Those undergoing treatment are being cared for.

LAZAWO June Update - Supportive Community Comes Together for Animal Outreach
Thank you to Dr. Zacharia, Dr. Yusuph, Dr. Sr Rosamystica, and translator Samson. Their recent mission to Masinono in Musoma was nothing short of extraordinary. This dedicated team collaborated with local animal welfare officers and government officials and received a warm welcome from the community. Their efforts led to the treatment of 223 donkeys, with 39 receiving specialised care for wounds and 60 owners educated on proper donkey care.

APOWA June / July Update - Accessible Vet Care for Animals and Health & Welfare Initiatives
We are grateful to the team at Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA) for their remarkable efforts through the Working Animal Welfare Project. They have worked tirelessly to improve the lives of 93 hardworking animals, including horses and oxen, by providing vaccinations, deworming, injury and illness treatment, and general health check-ups. Your dedication not only cares for these animals but also supports the livelihoods of their owners, making a true impact in the community.

Animal Nepal Dukuchhap Animal Sanctuary June Update - Monsoon Hits But Sanctuary Animals Are Right As Rain
Despite the destructive weather with some minor landslide,, all the animals remained safe and unharmed. The marvelous sanctuary team has been working hard to repair the damage and ensure the continued comfort and safety of the residents. The sanctuary is particularly happy to share the remarkable progress of Paulie, an injured horse. Paulie has been steadily gaining weight and showing significant improvement.
