Tanzania Humane Charity August 2023 Report

The Tanzania Humane Charity (TAHUCHA) is one of the groups which has been long-supported by AAA donors. During August, the TAHUCHA team had a case follow up for a donkey that had a flesh erythematous wound on the right thigh muscle. It is suspected that this was caused by being poured with hot water while grazing in the street.

The TAHUCHA team attended the donkey and inspected the very painful wound. The donkey’s wound was cleaned, dressed, and administered with painkillers and antibiotics to prevent secondary bacterial infection.

The donkey was prescribed to rest from work, grazing in a safe zone and being attended by the TAHUCHA team every two days until a full recovery was made.

After 18 days the donkey was fully recovered.

The TAHUCHA team extends it’s sincere appreciation to Animal Aid Abroad for their support for the sake of donkey welfare improvement in the Bukombe district.
