Tanzania Humane Charity June 2023Report

The Tanzania Humane Charity (TAHUCHA) is one of the partner groups who are kindly supported by AAA donors.

In June 2023, the TAHUCHA team encountered the case of a donkey with severe bleeding from the left ear that had been cruelly cut by donkey riders since the donkey had an ear problem due to beating.

The team conducted a thorough clinical examination and saw that the donkey had intense pain and severe bleeding. Immediately, the team controlled the bleeding and administered painkillers for pain relief. Then the donkey was referred to be hospitalised at the sanctuary for further management. The treatment then continued until the donkey was fully recovered .

The donkey could not be returned to the owner until the owner signed a special humane donkey care form from police in order to protect this donkey from any other cruel treatment, and if it does happen, the owner will be apprehended by police.
