Zambezi Working Donkey Project - November 2022 Report

The Zambezi Working Donkey Project (ZWDP) have sent us their November 2022 report:

During November our team treated 193 donkeys through mobile clinics, and at Maramba Farm. Treatments included dipping, de-working and wound care. We made and issued 17 sets of new humane harnesses, and fixed a further 27 sets!

This month we ventured to a new area, Chibule village, where very few of the owners we found had even the most basic knowledge of animal husbandry or working with donkeys. During the day we saw over 60 donkeys and replaced 10 ox-yokes with new sets of harnesses. We were able to combine this AAA funded Mobile Clinic with an education program at the local government school (supported by another partner Animals Kind International) and it worked really well, being able to do the mobile clinic with the donkey’s owners/handlers, followed by classes with the next generation! It was a very busy day and attendance was excellent, but we will need to return more frequently to follow up with some of the cases that we saw there.

An enormous THANK YOU goes out to the supporters of Animal Aid Abroad who raised extra funds this month to help us secure the future of 4 rescue donkeys… Mango, White, Jack and Missy are now safe from returning to a life of further abuse or neglect, and this is such a huge relief! However, as you know they are just the tip of the iceberg – it is such a support knowing that AAA is there to help and we hope that the funds keep coming in to enable you to secure the future of many more deserving animals.
