Kurdistan Organisation for Animal Rights Protection (KOARP) - September update

Dr Sulaiman and his team treated an amazing 2,708 animals during the month of September.

One of these cases was that of Jabo, a restless and aggressive male donkey in Teldafe/Shekhan district. Jabo was causing issues with his aggression and frequent biting of sheep, goat and small babies. The owner had two choices: either abandon the animal or castrate it using the old traditional (and inhumane) method.. The KOARP team caught the owner just in time, and after many days of discussion and education, he accepted KOARP’s help to castrate using the proper surgical method. The appointment was set and the procedure was carried out successfully.

Now, a month later, on their last visit to the Teldafe village, the team were pleased to hear the owner say that Jabo is now very relaxed, quiet, and not biting more. He is no longer aggressive and is very friendly with all animals and children.
