Walk for Donkeys in May

World Donkey Day is coming up on the 8th of May. To celebrate, we are holding a Donkey Awareness Walk in Perth Hills on Saturday, 7th of May at 10am. Last year’s walk was such a fantastic success, we are planning to do it all again!

On the day, we will walk together for 5 kilometres to celebrate this gentle creature and raise awareness concerning the abuse and neglect millions of working donkeys endure globally. Everyone is welcome to join the event and we’ll even have real donkeys walking with us!

All proceeds raised will go towards providing essential veterinary care, food and humane harnessing for donkeys, along with education for owners to prevent mistreatment or neglect of their donkeys.

If you join us in person, you can donate on the day or buy our merchandise. For those who cannot make it, you can donate any amount (from $5) here towards our World Donkey Day fundraiser.

The Donkey Awareness Walk will be held in Perth Hills on the Railway Reserve Heritage Trail. We will meet at 10am in Glen Forrest (corner of Hardey Rd & Railway Pde at the Train Park) and walk to Darlington for lunch, then return. The total distance is 5 km. You can find further details of the walk on our official World Donkey Day page: www.animalaidabroad.org/worlddonkeyday2022
