Life-saving Treatment and Equine Health and Well-being

We are grateful to all our supporters for your continued generosity - whether through donations, reading our updates, or engaging with us on social media. Your support has helped make life-saving care and essential education a reality for so many animals in need.

Together with our project partner, HIS, we’ve been able to provide compassionate care to equines this quarter.

Equine Cases at HIS Campus

Throughout this quarter, seven equine cases were attended to at the HIS campus, covering a variety of conditions such as colic, tick infestation, eye tumors, laceration wounds, anorexia, and diarrhea. The team also managed the Luniyawas camp, ensuring the welfare of these animals.

One significant case involved a mare admitted with an eye tumor. Dr. Pramod performed surgery, and after five days of rest, the mare made a full recovery.

Compounder Anandi played an essential role in the care provided during this period. He administered anti-tick medication to a foal and an anorectic injection to a mare. After receiving the injection, the mare's condition improved, and she was sent home in better health.

CRC Bassi: Donkey Care and Treatment

At the CRC Bassi, eight donkeys (four males and four females), one stallion, and one mule were housed and cared for. All equines received deworming treatment, and the hooves of all the donkeys were trimmed as part of their regular maintenance.

CRC OPD: Equine Treatment

During this period, one equine was treated at the CRC OPD, receiving necessary care and attention.

Monthly Camp: Treatment for Mares

A total of four mares were treated during the monthly camp, each receiving appropriate medical care to ensure their health and well-being.
