Luniyawas Camp Provided Care to 176 Equines

We are grateful to all our supporters for your continued generosity - whether through donations, reading our updates, or engaging with us on social media. Your support has helped make life-saving care and essential education a reality for so many animals in need.

Together with our project partner, HIS, we’ve been able to provide compassionate care to equines this quarter.

Giving injection in small wounded mare

The dedicated HIS vets treated a variety of conditions, including anorexia, wounds, lameness, colic, diarrhoea, corneal opacity, respiratory distress, skin diseases, tumours, reproductive issues, and urinary problems, all caused or worsened by transportation and poor hygiene.

HIS administered anti-tetanus injections and deworming treatments to 176 equines, alongside other necessary medications and feed supplements.

The camp drew participants from various districts of Rajasthan and nearby states, including Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Gujarat. Many of the owners are poor and rely on their animals for their livelihood, so the team also provided education on animal health care.

The event was made possible withAAA supporters contributions, and HIS hope to continue with your help in future camps, including next year’s Equine Puskar Camp.

Key highlights include:

  • Dr. Pramod treating respiratory distress in a mare

  • Dr. Abhinav administering anti-tetanus injections

  • Diagnosis and treatment of eye conditions and wounds

  • Deworming and health education for owners, including a special focus on foals and behaviour

  • Treatment of hoof ulcers, skin diseases, and lameness

  • Fluids and supplements for diarrhoea and general weakness
