Help in Suffering Quarterly Equine Report Oct-Dec 2023

Help in Suffering (HIS) sends a huge thank you to AAA donors for your invaluable support for the equines of India. HIS have sent through the quarterly report on their work with equines during October-December 2023.

16 cases were attended at the HIS campus.

In this quarter HIS saw cases of colic, wound, lacerated wound, reproductive problem, bone fracture, lameness, respiratory problem, tumour on hoof etc.

This year HIS vets are back on field at Luniyavas after a long time. It is ‘’donkey fair’’ here people come to sail and purchase donkey and horses in the time of festival season (Navratri). In this camp we attend so many cases and gave those anti tetanus and deworming to foal, mare, and horse. We also attend many cases of wound, lameness, colic, diarrhoea, general weakness, corneal opacity and respiratory distress developed by their transportation, and we gave treatment to them according to their clinical condition. At luniyavas fair People came from different districts of Rajasthan and near state of Rajasthan (up, mp, Haryana and Gujarat). In this camp many people are very poor and not know about their animal health and they only depend on animal for their livelihood. So we educate them for their health and gave those anti tetanus and deworming medicine. Thank you for AAA support for this camp and hopefully it will continue by your support. We will also want to mange equine pushkar camp by your support next year.

At CRC Bassi, we have 7 donkeys (3 males + 4 females), stallion = 1, mule= 1, a total= 9 equines

Regular deworming is performed at the shelter of all equines.

One of the cases treated at the rescue centre was that of a tumor like growth on left elbow joint.

Owner Raja Ram bought his mare from Benada. He told Dr Jitendra about the mare’s problem. When he diagnosed the mare, he found a fibrous growth with fluid accumulation in the left elbow joint and removed accumulated fluid with the help of a needle and applied a pressure bandage. Dr gave him antibiotic, painkiller etc and prescribed medicine's orally for 3 to 4 days.

After 5 day's he came again with the mare, and it was observed that the tumor mass had regressed and the mare was feeling better.

Thanking you once again AAA for your support for the medical treatment of Equines.

Because of you we are able to make help these gorgeous equines and make their life better.

With Gratitude
