Friendicoes Camel Sanctuary Quarterly Report

The generous donations from AAA donors help our partner groups all over the world and one of those groups is Friendicoes based in India. Friendicoes have sent us their quarterly update for their Camel Sanctuary which currently houses 41 rescued camels.

Many of the issues treated for the camels who come to the sanctuary include foot injuries, skin problems, eye injuries, open and infected wounds, which cause swelling.

Once rehomed at the Sanctuary the rescued camels enjoy long walks and the freedom to range with plenty of open desert/scrubland around the area. When they are no longer worked on tarred roads or taken into the city to give rides, the camels’ padded feet start to heal and recover.

Thanks to the aid given by AAA donors, the camels receive water tankers of fresh sweet drinking water. The group ensure that fresh water is placed along side the road so that other working animals passing by can have access as well. This will be invaluable after the March heat starts.

Friendicoes thanks Animal Aid Abroad donors for their amazing support.
