Help in Suffering Camel Rescue Centre Report for May 2023

AAA supports the Help in Suffering (HIS) Camel Rescue Centre (CRC) with the help of our donors.

During May, a camel herd owner Raju Rebari called in at the CRC shelter one night at 9 pm. He told the team that one of his female camels gave birth to a calf two days ago and that now there was continuous bleeding from the camel’s genital organ due to mechanical trauma during the process of giving birth.

Dr. Jitendar reached the location the next morning. He found that the discharge of blood was a considerable amount. The treatment was started with medicines like pain killers, antibiotics, blood coagulant etc, and an intra uterine flush was done. In the evening the bleeding stopped, no stitches were required, and the camel was feeling better and started eating food.

In other case, at the HIS site in village Dayarampura, there was a very poor owner named Manaram. One day he called in about the Colic and fever of his camel. He could not go to work because of this condition. This may have been caused by an infection or ingestion of the wrong food.

Being not too far from the camel’s location, the team reached there within 20 minutes of the complaint being received. The owner was surprised and happy to see us. All the appropriate medicines were administered to the camel and also given oral medication for further use.

Thank you to our supporters who help keep organisations like this able to help as many animals as they do.
