LAWCS in Guinea - April 2023 Report

One of the partner groups that AAA supports, through the help of our generous donors, is the Liberia Animal Welfare and Conservation Society (LAWCS) in Guinea.

LAWCS has sent us these pictures of a local boy, Musa and his lovely pet horse called ’DODO’. According to Musa, he had negative beliefs about animals and was never friendly with his horse until he started learning about love, respect, care, kindness, and compassion for all animals. The LAWCS Education program gave him the opportunity to reflect on his attitude and behaviour towards DODO and it helped him to change for good.

He started showing innate love, affection, respect, kindness and compassion to his horse and named her  DODO. Both have become close friends and they are now inspiring other people in the community to
show more love, care and kindness to animals.

In the month of April, The LAWCS team treated 1,391 donkeys, 10 horses and 312 cattle, totalling 1,713 working animals. They also educated 1,218 animal owners and their kids about animal welfare, the basic needs of working animals, humane handling, etc. Thank you LAWCS for your hard work.
