TAHUCHA Sanctuary Report - April 2023

We and our donors care greatly about the plight of working donkeys around the world and our partner group TAHUCHA does important work in this area. The TAHUCHA Bukombe donkey sanctuary treated a total of 169 donkeys in April 2023, with 128 donkeys being permanently rehabilitated and 41 being hospitalized temporarily for treatment and care.

At the sanctuary all of the water troughs are in good condition and serving their purpose for keeping water for donkeys to drink. Rosie Gate, the 3 stables and the yard are all in good condition and no repairs have been required. The wells are still working and supplying water for the animals at the sanctuary.

TAHUCHA workers (Ndebile and Naomi) are competently fulfilling their duties to ensure that all properties are safe, clean, watered, and that the grazing donkeys have plenty of food.

During April, TAHUCHA received 15 intern vets from SOKOINE UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE, to participate in world veterinary day that commenced on 29/04/2023.

Generally donkeys at the sanctuary are healthier and all other infrastructure is in good shape, all thanks to the support of people like you who help us help partner groups like TAHUCHA.
