Help in Suffering Camel Rescue Centre January 2023 Report

The Help in Suffering (HIS) team at the Camel Rescue Centre (CRC) in Bassi conducted 23 mobile clinic outreach missions during January 2023, they also took in one blind camel, and treated a total of 1,174 animals, including dogs, cattle, goats, monkeys, birds and rabbits. There are a total of 29 animals living at the shelter.

During the month, there were two standout cases:

Case 1:

One day a camel herd owner Sonu Rebari from village Goner called us as many of the camels in his herd were suffering from different ailments like skin infections, multiple wounds, trypanosomiasis etc.

Our CRC team went there and provided veterinary help to 105 camels that day. The owner was glad to get the help at his place.

Case 2:

One day we received an emergency call from the village Chawndia about a vaginal prolapse. When we reached there we found that it was not only the prolapse of vagina but also the rupture of internal muscles.

We cleaned the prolapsed part with a mild antiseptic solution and planned to repair it surgically.

Under sedation, the suturing was done and prolapse was fixed by Dr. Jitendar and his team. The she camel was relieved of the discomfort and the owner Puranmal thanked our team a lot.
