Help in Suffering - Camel Rescue Centre Report - November 2023

Below is an update from our partner group, the Camel Rescue Centre, which is run by Help in Suffering. In November, they saw two notable cases:

Case-1

One day the owner Harkesh from village Jatwara brought his camel and told that his camel fell down 3-4 days ago and now he is showing difficulty in getting up. On examination, Dr. Jitendar got to know that the animal was not eating well for many days and was dull and lethargic.

We gave him fluids, multi-vitamin, stomachic powders etc. We also instructed the owner to give him deworming medicine, proper rest and good food.

Case-2

One day a person Ramji lal from village Bassi came to shelter with the problem of lameness of the camel. He said that his camel is walking with too much difficulty.

We saw there was a tiny hole in the foot pad. The camel was sedated as this kind is very painful to examine. We found that there was a small stone in the wound. The stone and dirt was removed and the wound was cleaned. Required antibiotics and painkillers were administered. The owner was advised to keep the animal at rest till recovery.
