TAHUCHA October 2023 Report

The Tanzania Humane Charity (TAHUCHA) uses the generous support given by AAA donors to help the many overworked and abused working donkeys in their area.

During October, the team rescued a donkey which was exhausted and falling down in the forest while grazing.

As soon as the team received the information, they went to rescue the donkey. Upon the team’s arrival, the donkey was carried by stretcher from the forest to the sanctuary for further diagnosis and examination.

On examination the donkey was diagnosed to have colic, pale mucous membrane and an over-grown hoof.

The TAHUCHA team managed the donkey by giving supportive therapy (1000ml of dextrose 10), hoof trimming and painkiller administration.

The donkey recovered from the colic within few hours after management.
