Janet Thomas, AAA founder awarded a 2023 Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM)

Animal Aid Abroad is very pleased to announce that our amazing founder, Janet Thomas, has been awarded a 2023 Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service worthy of recognition in animal welfare.

This honour was announced on Australia Day; and a brief interview with Janet was aired on Channel 7 News on Australia Day.

As members of AAA we all know that no-one is more deserving than Janet for tireless work in their respective field, but it is so exciting to have this recognized by the wider community.

How many animals across the globe would still be suffering and working in inhumane conditions if not for Janet’s perseverance? She is up there with the international fighters for animal safety and welfare, and her dream that started over 16 years ago has never wavered.

As for her team, she keeps us all pushing for a better world.
