Help in Suffering Equine Clinical Program April - June 2022
The Help in Suffering (HIS) Equine shelter in Bassi saw a majority of colic and laceration wounds during the April - June period. The shelter housed and treated a total of seven equines during this time.
The Equine Clinical Program treated 10 donkeys, one stallion and one mule. Unfortunately during this period, two donkeys were lost due to severe colic. Two of the animals were treated for pregnancy, one was not eating, and two animals were treated for open wounds. All animals were given deworming treatments, ointments for wounds and prebiotics.
While the main focus of the HIS team is on Camels, we commend and appreciate the team for their work with both equines and all other animals.
