Animal Nepal Dukuchhap Donkey Sanctuary Report - November 2021

Following is an update from partner group, Animal Nepal:

At the time of writing this report, as communicated late last year, we lost our dear Puffin who had been with us for ten years. While losing any animals is sad, we find comfort in the fact that Puffin had a great life with us, thanks to AAA and her sponsors.

The construction of our wall is almost complete, after several delays caused by the lockdowns, weather conditions and other logistical issues. It feels wonderful to be able to provide that extra layer of security for our animals. With the nearing completion of the wall, we also have now created a permanent separate space for our donkeys, who now have their own paddock. They are really enjoying this new space and during the late afternoons, it’s always a joy to watch them rolling around and running in their paddock.

This month, Fudge was having slight issues with his front tooth, which we think he might have bumped on the stable railing. So for few days, he was being fed soft food, but we are now happy to report that he is back to good form again.

With the onset of winter, all the equines are looking lovely with the growth of their winter fur and our caretakers are taking extra care in grooming them.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Animal Aid Abroad for their continued financial support in the running and maintenance of the sanctuary for our rescued equines in Dukuchhap.
