Help in Suffering (HIS) Camel Rescue Centre - August Report

The team at Help in Suffering (HIS) Camel Rescue Centre have sent us two case studies from their activity during August:

Case 1- A camel herd owner from village Dudhali was visited by the HIS team, and they found that one of the young camels had a wound on his throat. The wound was full of maggots and causing much discomfort. The team cleaned the wound and the maggots were removed. Suitable antibiotics, painkillers etc. were given. He was advised to protect the wound from flies and to keep clean, with plenty of rest for the animal.

Case 2-  HIS received a phone call from camel owner, Pappulal from  village Kuthda, that his camel's front leg was injured due to barbed wire. Dr. Jitendar went there to take care of the camel and found that the muscles of the right foreleg were torn. The vet found that the wound was superficial, so it was cleaned aseptically and appropriate medication was given. The wound was healed in 10 days.
