Friendicoes Equine Program - August 2021 Update

The Friendicoes team had a busy month of August with the usual cases of things like colic, lacerated wounds, infected wounds and fencing wire injuries. There was also a more unusual case of rescuing a pony from a canal. This pony had fallen into the canal while grazing and because the sides were smooth, the pony could not get out. With support from the local community, the team were able to help the pony out of the water and back onto dry land.

One abandoned donkey that had an infected dog bite wound was rescued and brought back to the sanctuary for lifetime care, and the team also continued their working animal feeding program, providing clean and fresh food to over 160 equines and 300 stray cattle.

Thank you to the team, including Field Paravets: Zaheer - Jewar, Sakir - Agra, Salman - Bharatpur, Naba - Mathura, and Om - Gurgaon for all of your hard work!
