Animal Nepal - September Report

On the occasion of World Rabies Day on 28th September, all of the Animal Nepal shelter animals received their Anti-Rabies booster vaccination as well as Tetanus booster. Rabies continues to be a real threat in Nepal, which is why routine vaccination of all domestic animals is key to preventing and eventually eliminating this deadly disease.

The shelter animals have been enjoying the milder autumn weather, although the unseasonal rainfall continues to disrupt their grazing time outdoors. There have been no health issues this month and the shelter staff and interns have been spending more time with Jackie and Paulie to make them more accustomed to people. Paulie (the one eyed female horse) is especially nervous around new people, so the team are trying to work on that to make her feel more comfortable around people.

Animal Nepal would like to express sincerest gratitude to Animal Aid Abroad for their continued financial support in the running and maintenance of the sanctuary for the rescued equines in Dukuchhap.
