Starting Over Oct/Nov Update - Welcoming Newborn Foal Bzik and an Elderly Donkey
Starting Over currently cares for 49 donkeys in the high-needs area they call the Hope Compound. This month has brought moments of change, including some new arrivals who are receiving care and support thanks to your generous donations.
Each of these donkeys has a unique story and a distinct set of needs. The team at Starting Over provides each one with the respect, compassion, and rehabilitation they require, all made possible by your contributions.
We have a joyful event to share: Deborah, a gentle jenny, has given birth to a foal named Bzik!
Born a bit early, Bzik faced challenges initially, struggling to stand on his own and having difficulty suckling due to a jaw deformity. Both Deborah and Bzik spent a week at the hospital receiving supportive care.
Bzik has grown stronger, learned to adapt and is now thriving alongside his mum in the nursery.
The team also welcomed an elderly donkey from Hebron, around 30 years old, who arrived in frail condition. Nearly blind, with extensive wear on his front legs from years of hard labour, he is now settling in at the compound, where he’ll receive much-needed peace and rest.
Each of these donkeys brings a unique story and a unique set of needs. The team at Starting Over provide every one of them with the respect, compassion and rehabilitation.
Thank you for your kindness and support for donkeys and all animals. ❤️
