Action for Protection of Wild Animals Update - Mobile Relief to India's Hardworking Animals
Our wonderful project partner Action for Protection of Wild Animals (APOWA) has updated us with their first monthly report and they're already making great changes!
They've launched a mobile clinic that has travelled to remote areas to provide essential medical care to animals in need.
We're excited to see the positive impact for animals and encourage everyone to follow and support APOWA's caring work.
In just its first month, the clinic has treated 36 working animals, including horses and hard working cattle in Cuttack and Nilagiri. These animals often go without proper medical care due to financial limitations and a lack of nearby veterinary facilities.
Thanks to our supporters, more and more animals are finally getting the care they need!
Here's a glimpse of the impact we're making with APOWA:
The team has provided free medical checkups and treatments to animals who might otherwise go untreated.
Deworming and treatment for illnesses, giving these hard working animals protection and the chance to feel their best.
Vets have also examined 22 animals, offering valuable advice to their owners.
The animals in Nilagiri appear to be experiencing more health issues, with conditions ranging from severe cold to back pain. Worm infections and eye infections are the most common issues.
But this is just the beginning! While the mobile clinic is up and running, other exciting aspects of the project are about to kick off:
Vaccination drives: Protecting animals from preventable diseases like Foot and Mouth Disease and Haemorrhagic Septicaemia (HSBQ).
Animal welfare workshops: Empowering local communities by providing training on animal care, basic first aid, and proper husbandry practices.
First-aid kit distribution: Equipping owners with first-aid supplies will ensure animals receive prompt care for minor injuries.
A heartfelt thank you to our supporters for being a part of this incredible partnership with APOWA! With you by our side, we can keep protecting animals and ensure they have a healthier, happier future.
