Help in Suffering - Camel Rescue Centre Report - June 2023

Help in Suffering (HIS) based in India, is just one of the partner groups that benefits from the generous support of Animal Aid Abroad’s donors. HIS have sent us an update on the activity of their Camel Rescue Centre (CRC) for June 2023:

One day our team went to village Patan. The owner Ram lal brought his camel to us as he was not eating properly and passing dry and scanty faeces and was reluctant to work. After taking history our CRC vet, Dr. Jitendar concluded that the camel was suffering from colic and impaction. The camel was treated accordingly. Enema was also given and soon the camel started passing the faeces and was relieved from the pain. Oral medicines were given for further use at home.

Elsewhere, in village Papad near Jamwa Ramgarh, we got one more case of camels suffering from the rise in temperature, colic and impaction for 3 days. The owner Girdhari tried to resolve the problem with some home remedies but did not succeed. He called our team. After examining the camel the treatment was started with required medicines. Fluid therapy was given, laxative medicines were administered. The owner thanked our team for helping him at his place without charging the fees.
