Animal Nepal Dukuchhap Animal Sanctuary - June 2023 Report

The generous donations from AAA supporters help fund the Animal Nepal Dukuchhap Animal Sanctuary. The team at Animal Nepal have sent us the following report on their current sanctuary rescues:

Following an unfortunate lab result of one of our new rescues Randeep, as a precaution we are now keeping the new rescues in quarantine for a longer time. Depending on their repeat blood test results, it will be anywhere between 3-6 months. While poor Randeep had to be put to sleep due to his Glanders diagnosis, we are happy to report that the other 5 recent rescue animals are doing really well and not showing any symptoms of the disease.

All of our shelter animals are doing really well and they are all enjoying the abundance of green grass this monsoon season. This month we also trimmed the hooves of some of our shelter animals. The newly built trevis has proved to be very useful in restraining our animals during these kind of procedures. This month we also have a new batch of interns assisting us at the sanctuary, which is very helpful for our staff and our animals love the extra attention too.

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to Animal Aid Abroad for their continued financial support in the running and maintenance of the sanctuary for our rescued equines in Dukuchhap.
