Friendicoes - July rescues
Partner Group Friendicoes rescued a number of animals during the month of July. Among them were a pony and a donkey who were rescued from the Guru Dronacharya Metro Station after having been abandoned there. Both animals had partial blindness and the pony had a lacerated wound on its hindquarters. Both were rescued and brought to the shelter for some TLC. Gopal, the team’s farrier makes it a point to be the first to meet the newcomers as they arrive.
Another horse was rescued from the MG Road metro station in Gurgaon. It appears that a riding club may have abandoned this horse due to old age as it is a thoroughbred but is elderly and had maggots infesting its ear. Again, this horse was rescued and brought to the shelter, where after examination it appeared to have been neglected for quite some time and was starving for food.
Thank you to Friendicoes for giving these animals the care and respite they need from their troubled circumstances.
