Help in Suffering (HIS) Camel Rescue Centre - September update

AAA partner group, Help in Suffering (HIS) have sent us an update on the recent activity at the Camel Rescue Centre:

Case 1

Sometimes the camels come in such a bad condition that we cannot imagine the severity of discomfort and pain. Such a camel came to us from village Deep pura. The owner Bholaram told us that he had to go out of his village for a few days so he gave the camel to some known person to keep for a few days. That person did not take care properly so the camel ran away into the forest. When they found the camel after 10 days, he was suffering with a heavy maggot infestation at his buccal cavity, nose peg area, upper and lower lips. The upper and lower lips had swelling. CRC vet Dr. Jitendar administered the medicine topically and also injected medicine to reduce the pain and infection and to kill the maggots as well. After some time the maggots died and the camel felt better.

Case 2

A community member called Mangi lal came to us from village Sambharia. His camel was suffering from a saddle wound. It was because of an uneven saddle. The wound was deep. It was cleaned and painkillers and antibiotics were administered. We asked the owner to repair the saddle and also gave him medicine for further use.
