Tanzania Humane Charity (TAHUCHA) - Bukombe Sanctuary

One of the purposes of setting up the Bukombe sanctuary is to deliver welfare and health services for animals with miserable lives and those in need of highly specialized medical attention in animal hospital.

Beyond that, the sanctuary has been also a platform for children around the area to have access to education and entertainment.

The sanctuary is based in a rural area and the children around the sanctuary have the challenge of not having access to  education, just due to missing some minimum requirements like school uniforms, shoes and birth certificate.

TAHUCHA are overwhelmed with the basic work of the donkeys in need - both hospitalized and those that are treated and left in the care of their owners.

The team are happy to see the nuns who brought their school children to the sanctuary to learn and entertain them with the donkeys. Recently, the nuns have agreed to help with the school minimum requirements for some children living in the donkey owning community around the sanctuary.

Animal Aid Abroad, since 2018, have been helping many school children in Bukombe with a need for school requirements. At the moment the number of school children in need is over 100. The nuns have helped children to cover the cost of good shoes, skirt or shorts, T-shirt, socks and exercise book.
