Animal Nepal Dukuchhap Donkey Sanctuary - July Report

July was hoof-trimming month at the Animal Nepal Dukuchhap Donkey Sanctuary, carried out by the vet technician along with the resident caretakers.

Not all the animals like to have their hooves trimmed, and the most recent rescue, Tara really dislikes it so he needed to be restrained by a few of the staff in order to have his hooves trimmed. The swelling on his injured leg is better now and he is able to move around without experiencing much pain or discomfort. Recently, Tara prefers to spend time on his own and he really appears to enjoy napping in the sun. This month, building work has resumed at the sanctuary, with the wall likely to be completed by end of September. Due to the rain, the animals tend to get quite dirty during this period, so the caretakers and vet technicians spent a lot of time grooming them this month.

Animal Nepal would like to express sincerest gratitude to Animal Aid Abroad for their continued financial support in the running and maintenance of the sanctuary for the rescued equines in Dukuchhap.
