Friendicoes' unsung heroes of the Mobile Equine Veterinary Program

One of the international groups that Animal Aid Abroad supports is Friendicoes India, who have sent us an acknowledgement of their unsung heroes in the field - the Field Paravets, including Jaheer, Salman, Nabab and Sakir.

Each of the paravets are provided with a medical kit, and are trained in first aid treatment. They provide follow up treatments after vet visits, and report back to the vet each day on patient progress. In a month, each paravet provides medical assistance to 120-150 animals. The main animals they deal with are horses, mules and donkeys. Aside from treating these animals, they also educate the owners about the proper care of them, and discourage some of the cruel behaviour seen such as attempted home surgery and incorrect feeding practices.

Animal Aid Abroad joins Friendicoes in acknowledging and applauding the fantastic work done by these paravets! Thank you to our donors who make our support of these groups possible.
