Walk to resume as restrictions ease!

In great news for the walk, yesterday Victoria eased its restrictions further and now hiking is allowed, national parks are open and travel for these activities is permitted but no overnight camping is allowed. These new rulings come into effect as of midnight tonight.

As such, tomorrow Janet and Jack will restart the walk but drive straight to Nelson (near the SA border) which is 158 km from Warrnambool and use the km accrued (232.77km) while waylaid there to go towards this section of the route missed.

Once in Nelson, Janet and Jack will walk to the border and then continue walking to Mt Gambier which is another 37km. Camping and caravan parks are all open in SA. A potential 14 day quarantine in Mt Gambier has been pre-arranged.

Of course, this was not the original plan, however adapting the plan to accommodate for the crazy circumstances we find ourselves in reflects the spirit of the walk itself, and shows there is always a way through challenges and tough situations.

Stay tuned for updates on this new chapter of the walk!
