| Dear friends, At the Godavari Donkey Sanctuary it's getting colder and the donkeys have started showing off their winter coats. They look ever so smart! The sanctuary presently houses 12 donkeys, including a temporary resident, Maneka. Caretaker Thula Kanchha and his family are now experienced donkey handlers. Our vets, Sudip and Surendra, and programme manager Krishna visit the donkeys on a daily basis. The donkeys have visibly improved. Have a look at the difference in Kitchuri's pics. When the discarded half blind donkey was brought in 1.5 months ago she acted grumpy and depressed. Now she is a confident, happy resident at the sanctuary. We like to thank Janet and other friends at Animal Aid Abroad as well as you as a sponsor for making it possible to help the suffering working donkeys of Nepal. The sanctuary acts as a safe haven for discarded and handicapped working donkeys of Kathmandu Valley. Now all we need is a bit of snow to take that perfect picture! |
