Afghanistan Update: Nowzad
Our baby donkey ‘Khushi’ (meaning happiness), is no longer a baby. Actually we believe she thinks she is a dog... With her paddock being located in the Nowzad dog shelter in Kabul, Afghanistan ‘Khushi loves nothing more than wandering around with the shelter staff saying hello to all the canine residents.
Both mum and dad; Rosie and Samson are doing well – becoming more trusting of us each day which is great to see after the former life of hardship they had to endure.
The Nowzad clinic is now taking responsibility for providing one day a week of ‘hands-on’ training for the students attending Kabul Veterinary University. Currently they are getting to grips with our canine treatments and programmes but Khushi will come into her own when the students start learning all about donkey care and handling! Khushi just loves licking noses!!
Until we are able to secure the higher levels of funding we need then we cannot take in more of the overworked donkey population but we have made a start and a difference to now three donkeys! Thank you Animals Aid Abroad for your continued generous support!
