AAA visits the Pilbara
Written by AAA
Created Monday, 15 September 2008
During the month of August Janet took a trip to the north west with the objective to expand AAA's network, membership and hopefully raise a few dollars for AAA. Janet attended three festivals: Karratha FeNaCl festival, Tom Price 'Nameless' festival and the Newman
'Fortescue' festival. It was a successful trip raising $ 1891.15 and gaining much support and a couple of new members for AAA.
We had our first 'Kids Klub' member join in Tom Price [ Phoebe Thomson] and we also gained another 'Kids Klub' member in Newman, his name was Eirik Murphy. Our adult member was Michelle Mitchell from Paraburdoo. Welcome Phoebe, Eirik and Michelle to Animal Aid Abroad and a big thank you for coming on board to help us with our animal projects. Please see attached a photo of Eirik. You can see a picture of Phoebe in our story on the 1st 'Kids Klub' member for AAA.
Janet also did a few school visits in both Paraburdoo and Newman that had many of the children very interested in our work and had lots of questions about the animals in Egypt and the hardships they face. Thank you to the Principals and staff of these schools that welcomed us in to talk to their children.
You can see more photos from this trip in our picture gallery under AAA trip to the northwest.
