Jhonny was found abandoned in Medgidia’s street, near a big factory. The employees saw the horse and called us. Immediately the staff of Save the Dogs and other Animals brought him to Medgidia shelter for a first check of the horse. Maybe it was abandoned because of a sprain paw that impeded him to walk well, tow the cart and carry out farm works. He was very afraid and it was difficult to capture him. He tried to kick our workers, since he was thinking they wanted to hurt him. We can’t imagine how many traumas a horse might suffer in his life when he comes from these poor areas.
In Medgidia he received the necessary cures. For long a time Jhonny limped and, when he was moved at Footprints of Joy, he could enjoy of the big and green area where the horses are staying.
Most of the horses that arrive in our shelter are usually ill because the owners want to free themselves of sick and useless horses. We need to give them a lot of attention and vet cures to give to these horses a second life chance. For this reason we need your precious help.
Now Jhonny have a peaceful and cheerful life. He is the dominant horse in his stable. He is friendly and tender with visitors and he loves to roll in mud when is raining.
Update (November 2016)
Jhonny is our senior horse, always posing a lord-like appearance. Calm, patient and wise, he is always watching the 2 teenagers, Victor and Dominique. He is the father figure that leads the other 2 boys.
Update (May 2017)
Jhonny, the wise, old boy, is gentle and well mannered. He will always keep a close eye on Dominique and Victor in case he needs to make them behave. Luckily the boys respect his seniority. He loves nothing better than being first out of his stable each morning and showing his two younger charges the way.
