Animal Aid Abroad Inc. couldn't make a difference to animals' lives without the generous assistance of our amazing volunteers, members, supporters and committee. Here we will highlight the contribution of one of our team every now and again as a small token of our heart-felt thanks!

Kelly Wallace joined AAA as a volunteer last year and along with Marie Crilley has organised the cake and book stalls at Cronulla in Sydney. She has seen first hand the suffering of the animals in Middle East and Asia. She is also doing a chocolate drive for AAA and recently been involved with getting supplies for the Tonga Dog Project.
She has for many years volunteered for animal rights groups and been involved in many protests. She has been an active member with Free The Bear Fund for over 10 years as well as Sydney Pet Rescue for the last 2 years. She has been having stalls at Cronulla over the last 8 years for Free the Bears,
Sydney Pet Rescue and in the last year has had three stalls to raise money and raise awareness for the banning of live export.
Her time mainly is taken up at the moment with rescuing animals from pounds and shelters and finding homes for them. She also does a lot of work with de-sexing and re-homing strays in her local area.
Kelly lives at Kurnell in Sydney’s South with her husband, 2 children, 1 dog and 3 cats.
Kelly is an invaluable member, supporter and volunteer of Animal Aid Abroad and we are very fortunate to have her on-board. Recently Kelly was awarded honorary life membership to AAA for her service to us.

Marie is our Eastern states co-ordinator who joined AAA in 2009 and has been on the AAA committee for the past 2.5 years. Marie has worked very hard to organise stalls at the Sydney Cruelty Free Festival, Sydney Vegan Festival, Merrylands PetFest and the Snowy River Festival over the past couple of years and for the first time helped at the joint Free the Bears/ AAA Book and Cake stall at Cronulla in 2010. She has for many years volunteered for animal rights groups. In New York City she demonstrated against the Revlon Draize eyes testing on rabbits. In Sydney she has campaigned and volunteered for Animals Asia, Animals Australia, Australian Association for Humane Research and Free the Bears. In Barcelona in 2008 she took part in a large anti-bullfight demonstration. While visiting Friendicoes and the offices of Wildlife SOS in New Delhi, Marie went out several times on the mobile veterinary clinic routes in New Delhi and Agra, in particular visiting the brick kilns and seeing first hand the miserable and back breaking conditions endured by most of the brick kiln donkeys, and other working horses. She feels very strongly about the often overlooked conditions of working animals especially in developing countries, and now focuses most of her efforts on raising awareness and money to help them. Marie is a public librarian who lives in Sydney with two dogs and five cats and is a very valuable member of the AAA team and committee. She is an asset to us and the many animals she has helped over the years...and she hasn't slowed down ... Way to go Marie!

I am 6 years old. My Mum got involved in AAA so I got involved too. We had a stall at the Royal Show and I helped Mum and Janet with taking money from people and I shook a tin in the city to raise money and I helped at Hyde Park doing the mould painting.
I have a special money box for animal charities. I have bought some of the AAA toys with my money for the animals.
I like animals. I have two guinea pigs called Bubba and Fluffball and I have a dog Zoe, who I share with a neighbour, and I have two fishies called Sweet and Dadda.

Hi, My name is Talitha Golding and I have just finished year 7 at Presbyterian Ladies' College in Perth, Western Australia.
I'm 12 years old and I love animals. I have a Tabby cat who's now 15, and a dog who is an English Springer Spaniel named Rupert who is currently 9. They are both very amusing and good company.
I became interested in the welfare of animals a few years ago, and was introduced to Animal Aid Abroad inc. (AAA) in 2007 by Mrs Thomas. Some of you might know her as Janet. Mrs Thomas taught the year 4 classes of 2007 and inspired a lot of us, including myself, in the welfare of animals.
Last year, a friend and I were head of the Animal Aid committee (at school) for half of the school year. In the committee our aim was to make people aware of how animals are treated in and out of the country. But it wasn't just about raising awareness, it was about taking action and making a difference. We raised lots of money and donated it towards organisations such as the Shenton Park Cat Haven. We also sought to speaking to the Minister of the Reunion Islands where cats and dogs were being used as live shark bait.
At school we are encouraged to get involved in helping the community. In year 7 we have to complete at least 6 hours of community service. Some of the things I did for community service was selling chocolates for the AAA chocolate drive. I also volunteered to help at the AAA stand at the Perth Royal Show with a couple of friends.

I joined Animal Aid Abroad a couple of years ago when I came across the stall at the Royal Show. I got talking to Janet and was so inspired by the passion she has for animals.
I joined the committee this year as I really wanted to be more active and help out.
I have been vegetarian for around five years, and vegan for the past two years, because I cannot stand the exploitation of animals, and I have never felt better!
I live up in the hills with my fiancee Andrew, and our two dogs and a cat, all of which were dumped at the local vet to be put down.
I am passionate about protecting animals at risk, both here in Australia and in countries where animal welfare is just not a priority.
I am also a member of Stop Live Exports, Animals Australia, WSPA and Free the Bears and I support as many of the local animal groups as possible.
I am so happy to be involved with AAA, as it is such a wonderful group of caring people who make such a difference in the lives of animals.

Linda and Michael came on-board to help AAA in 2008 when we had our first raffle and since then have not stopped helping us. Michael and Linda are always there to lend a helping hand whether it be to man a stall at one of our events; assisting in the transport and setting up of stalls at some of the events we have attended; supporting our events as attendees, even shaking a tin in our annual street appeal - we can always rely on the help and great support of this couple. Linda and Michael live with their four children, two cats and dear dog Henry [as pictured] and their lifetime goal is to hit the road and travel around Australia indefinitely. Thanks to Linda and Michael who's help and efforts over the past couple of years has been GREATLY appreciated.
