PLC Animal Aid Committee Report - Aug 2009Written by AAA Created Monday, 31 August 2009 Cat HavenThis term the PLC Animal Aid Committee has started helping the Cat Haven in Shenton Park that has many cats that have been abandoned. The animal Aid group know this is only a small gesture, but all gestures are part of our ACTION COMPONENT The cat haven desperately needed old towels and cat food. It is going to be a long hard winter for these kittens and cats. We will help by taking turns of going over and feeding them, mucking out their cages and spending time with them so they feel loved. Everything is voluntary. The Animal Aid Group collected spare old towels and tins of cat food to help the Cat Haven. We know some people may not even like cats or kittens, but we are thinking in a broader sense. We are caring and showing empathy for animals. AA Committee sponsor x-ray machine for AA Egypt Vet ClincOur other work, which we have done this term , is raise money for an x-ray machine for donkeys and animals in Alexandria, Cairo. This machine will be the only x-ray machine available to animals in a city of over 4 million people and home to many strays and working animals. Many thanks to Mr Zulberti from Rosewood Care who sponsored us so we can purchase this machine for Animal Aid Abroad's clinic in Egypt. Campaign lettersWe have also written letters stating our outrage at what is happening in our world to some of the things, which is happening to our animal population. We are doing everything we can to protect the idea that animals have rights too. Help us with our fight in the Animal Rights Group. Please send any old blankets and cat food to us. We will ensure that these special items will find a good home keeping cats and kittens warm during the cold winter months. Thankyou for your help in this very important ACTION. Olivia and Talitha on behalf of the Animal Service Group at Presbyterian Ladies College, Perth, Western Australia.
