AAE team design and implement equipment

AAE team design and implement equipment that help the working equines in Alexandria.

AAA and AAE are very fortunate to have quite a few caring and enthusiastic members and staff who are trying to help and improve the conditions of working animals in this city.

Our latest achievements are worth particular note.

Ann Norhan Shrief, our Clinic Manager has come up with two devices that will help the working animals.
The first device Ann designed and invented herself was an equine resting stick.

Ann saw a great need for equines that carry heavy loads for long periods needing some respite from their heavy loads on their backs when the equine stops. She came up with a 2 prong stick that can be easily put under the harnessing that takes the load off the animals back. You can best see how this works by looking at the following two pictures.

These sticks were very cheap to make and are proving quite effective. More news about how these sticks are working will be mentioned in future articles.

Ann's second initiative was to initiate and design a padded cloth that wraps around the girth belt of working harnessed donkeys and horses. The AAE doctors and staff are constantly fixing wounds caused by incorrect and ill fitting harnesses that causes much rubbing and pain.

Finally, one of our committee members - Magda Fawsy has put in motion to have nose protectors made up for our working equines. Magda has not only sourced appropriate cheap material to make these nose protectors but she has also provided employment to lady who needed money for her family. For more information on these nose protectors and how they are being used in the Middle East please follow this link.

Stay tuned for future articles and pictures showing our donkey stick, girth and nose protectors in use. Thanks so much Ann and Magda.
