Glym and Captain Hook

Glym [ later renamed Abla]

AAE received a report that a stray dog had been hit by car in Glymenopoulo. She had a dislocated hind paw, which had also been previously injured and had healed wrongly, causing permanent disability. The dog also had scabies. Under the care of AAE vets and staff, who called her Glym initially, she recovered beautifully. The scabies were treated, as was her hind paw, which miraculously healed completely. A home was found for Glym by one of our members Mrs Heba Abd El Nasser. Many thanks go to Eman and Amr [AAE volunteers] and Ann [ Clinic Manager] for rescuing Glym, our doctor-in charge of her recovery - Dr Mohamed Nagy and Heba for adopting her.

Captain Hook [later renamed Antar]

Capt Hook came to AAE in a similar way. AAE received a report that there was an injured dog in the street that also had been hit by a car. It had injuries to its two front paws, both of which needed attending to before being plastered or bandaged. Although treatment took some time, Captain Hook recovered completely and a home was found for him, again with Mrs Heba Nasser. Captain Hook loved his daily walks with Amr who is one of our very hard working and dedicated volunteers. Thanks also to Dr Bassem who was his vet and rescuers Hany and Dr Bassem.

Metwalli

Was found on one of the Equine workshop trips and had been hit by a car. When our rescue team went to collect him, he couldn't be found. The team didn't give up, and two days later the dog was found in a garbage dump, alive but battered. He was taken to the clinic where for two weeks he lay on his side and couldn't move. Unfortunately, Metwalli did not not survive his injuries and although he seemed to be getting better he died from other complications. Thanks to Dr Bassem and Amr who rescued him and did their best to save this dog.
